Maximillian McNutt

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Maximillian McNutt received his Bachelor of Music from the Jacob’s School of Music, his Master of Music from Western Michigan University and is pursuing his DMA at the University of Colorado. He is currently Principal Trumpet of the Boulder Symphony and 2nd Trumpet of the Stratus Chamber Orchestra. 

In addition to his duties with the Boulder Symphony Mr. McNutt has performed with the Colorado Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Denver Philharmonic, Lima Symphony, Longmont Symphony, Aurora Symphony, New Albany Symphony, Central Ohio Symphony, Opera Project Columbus and Mahlerfest Orchestra among others. Some of his performance accolades include National Winner of the MTNA Young Artist Competition, Winner of the University of Colorado Honors Competition, 3rd place at the Roger Voisin Memorial Trumpet Competition, 2nd place at the International Trumpet Guild Orchestral Excerpts Competition, Winner of the Bay View Music Festival Concerto Competition and Semi-Finalist at the National Trumpet Competition multiple times.

His primary teachers include Dr. Ryan Gardner, Justin Bartels, Scott Thornburg, Dr. Robert White and John Rommel.
